What Aspects Should I Pay Special Attention to During the Operation of the Infrared Camera?

As a widely used monitoring camera, the infrared camera not only has a very good monitoring effect in the daytime, but also solves the problem that there are many noises that cannot be seen clearly at night, and has an excellent actual monitoring effect at night. Infrared security cameras have outstanding advantages such as long camera distance, strong concealment, and stable characteristics. Therefore, infrared cameras occupy the vast majority of the market in electrical products. An infrared camera with excellent functions should also pay special attention to the following aspects during use.

1. Working standard of infrared lamp in infrared security camera

Generally speaking, the radiation intensity of the infrared lamp of the infrared security camera offered by IR camera manufacturer is positively correlated with the forward operating current, but when the maximum rated value of the forward current is reached, the temperature of the components will increase due to the heat consumption of the current, making the intensity of the optical signal reduce. If the current of the infrared diode is too small, it will directly affect the full play of its radiation intensity, but if the working current is too large, it will endanger its service life and even damage the infrared diode.

When the voltage exceeds the positive threshold voltage, the current gradually begins to flow, and it is a steep curve, indicating that its working current requirement is very sensitive. Therefore, it is required that the working current be accurate and stable, otherwise it will affect the performance and stability of the radiation intensity. Radiation intensity rises with working temperature (including the rise of working temperature caused by its own heating) will reduce its radiation intensity. Infrared lamps, especially long-distance infrared lamps, heat consumption is a problem that should be paid attention to when formulating and selecting.

2. Temperature control of infrared security camera

Because it is equipped with an infrared lamp with a relatively large calorific value, after the infrared lamp is started, within the entire working time range (12 hours) there will be concentrated heating on the front side of the infrared security camera, that is, the temperature in the front of the cavity is relatively high. Heat dissipation can jeopardize the normal operation of other components such as surveillance cameras. This risk of inadequate heat dissipation implies the utmost importance of safeguarding all surveillance camera components, particularly the SWIR lens, when using infrared lamps. By taking measures such as providing additional ventilation or using specialized equipment, it is possible to defend surveillance cameras from harm while also utilizing infrared lamps effectively.

3. The problem of fogging and frosting of infrared security cameras

Fog and frost are formed because the saturated water vapor in the air is condensed and condensed into frost and fog due to the strength and weakness of the cold environment. During the operation of high-speed machine vision cameras, especially outdoor surveillance cameras, fog or frost often occurs on the glass window of the protective cover due to changes in the four seasons, temperature differences between day and night, and the natural environment of rain and snow, making it impossible for the surveillance camera to recognize object, directly affecting the actual effect of supervision.
